G’day, It’s Matt here—founder of Rugged Campers and a lifelong outdoor enthusiast. Growing up, I spent a lot of time in Bourke, NSW - Where I learned to appreciate Australia’s tough terrain. Camping, fishing, and exploring the outdoors have always been a huge part of my life.

A few years back, I was searching for a rooftop tent for my own Ford Ranger but couldn’t justify the unrealistic prices big brands were charging. That’s when the idea for Rugged Campers was born - A brand which offers high-quality, affordable gear that makes it easier for adventurers to get out and explore in comfort.

We spent years testing, tweaking, and refining our rooftop tents before launching our first design. Now, after countless nights under the stars and feedback from happy customers, we’ve built a lineup of tents that we’re truly proud of.
